What is the New Wave Feature Film? The "Tribute to Independent Cinema" in 2010 was a non-competitive event for the Independent genre, which the Festival later called New Wave. Tolentino, inspired by the continued popularity of independent films in the country announced the addition of the New Wave Section to widen the scope of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
