MMDA Supports DOH’s “Sabay Savaxx Kontra COVID” Campaign

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), along with other government agencies and local government units (LGUs), declared its complete support for the Department of Health’s “Sabay SaVaxx Kontra COVID” campaign, which kicked off today in Mandaluyong City with the rollout of the second vaccine booster shots for healthcare workers and senior citizens.

MMDA Chairman Romando Artes said the MMDA, with the Metro Manila local chief executives, is urging those who are qualified to avail of the second booster shot to strengthen their immunity against the COVID-19.

'This second booster for our healthcare workers and senior citizens will provide added protection to the first and primary doses. It will fortify defense of our health workers and seniors who belong to the vulnerable sectors,' Artes said.

To bolster the national government’s vaccination coverage, Artes said the MMDA mobile vaccination team will be deployed in partnership with various LGUs and the private sector to bring the vaccines closer to the public.

“With our continued collaboration with various sectors, we are hopeful that we would reach the endemic stage of this virus,” said Artes in his message during the Resbakuna Ceremonial Vaccination for the 2nd booster dose of COVID-19 vaccine at SM Megamall today.

“The virus is still around, but if we get inoculated, we will be able to protect not only ourselves, but also our community, from all the existing COVID-19 variants.”

The ceremonial vaccination serves to highlight the administration’s steadfast response against the COVID-19 pandemic by protecting every Filipino. Senior citizens and frontline health care workers participated to receive their second dose of booster during the ceremony.

As part of the MMDA’s initiatives, the agency launched mobile vaccination drives in key areas where people frequented such as shopping malls and transport terminals.

The agency also rolled out its own “Resbakuna Kids” drive to help augment Metro Manila’s respective pediatric vaccination campaigns.
