Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos and Carmona Mayor Roy Loyola led the tree-planting activity at the former MMDA sanitary landfill at Carmona, Cavite, which is being eyed to be converted into an ecological park. Abalos stressed there is a need to protect and preserve the ecology as part of sustainable development. At least 100 fire trees were planted in the area.
