MMDA Lauds Mandaluyong's COVID-19 Vaccination Plan
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) have lauded the efforts of the local government of Mandaluyong for its COVID-19 vaccination plan.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, with the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (C.O.D.E.) Team and MMDA Chairman Benhur Abalos, visited Pedro P. Cruz Elementary School today to check the city's preparations on the COVID-19 vaccination plan and to ensure that it is aligned with the Philippine National Vaccine Deployment Plan.
Pedro P. Cruz Elementary School is among the 10 schools in the city that will be utilized as vaccination centers for Mandaleños.
Chairman Abalos encouraged the public to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
"It is a patriotic duty to get inoculated as it protects us from COVID-19. We should do this not only for ourselves but for our family as well," Abalos stressed.
For her part, Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos said she had exerted efforts to convince all Mandaleños to get vaccinated by means of conducting “Ugnayan sa Barangay” daily. She also assured that Mandaluyong is ready for the rollout of COVID-19 vaccination.
Among the efforts of Mandaluyong LGU in combating the COVID-19 pandemic are the following: installation of public address system, reverse isolation facility, regular testing for jeepney and tricycle drivers, conduct of trainings and seminars, installation of IEC materials at the bike lane, and establishment of Task Force Disiplina.
Mandaluyong has allocated P200 million for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines.
