A portion of the 4th floor of the MMDA main building was damaged by a fire around 1:55 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, that reached only first alarm and lasted for 17 minutes.
Several firetrucks, emergency and rescue vehicles, such as ambulances, responded to the scene and immediately put out the flames.
Our personnel who were inside the 8th storey-building were immediately evacuated to a safe area.
Initial reports showed that two of our employees, Raymond Obtinario and Elizalde Domingo, sustained minor injuries during the evacuation process of MMDA employees out of the building.
We will further look into the cause of the fire at the 4th floor of the MMDA main building.
MMDA thanks the Bureau of Fire Protection for its swift response and action.
