Ex-Rizal Vice Gov Is New MMDA Deputy Chairman
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has a new Deputy Chairman in the person of ex-Rizal province Vice Governor Frisco San Juan Jr.
Having a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Mapua Institute of Science and Technology, San Juan’s technical skill will be invaluable to the agency and will play a vital part in addressing the various concerns in the metropolis.
San Juan started his corporate career with Ayala Corporation as an assistant engineer in 1974, the year after getting his civil engineer license.
After his stint with Ayala Corporation, San Juan also held several posts in different realty development companies, including Makati Development Corporation (assistant project engineer), Philpost Realty Development Corporation (vice president for Infrastructure Development, member Board of Directors), and Eastern Construction Company Inc. (chief executive officer).
San Juan had served Rizal provincial government as Vice Governor from 2009 until his last term in office this year.
He is also a member of several known civic and professional organizations such as the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (Rizal Chapter) and Knights of Rizal (Rizal Provincial Capitol Chapter- Chapter Commander).
Being a self-made man, San Juan attended and finished urban development and planning, and management programs organized by the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) and Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
He has honed his management skills and business acumen with his Masters degree in Business Administration from the Ateneo Graduate School of Business based in Makati City.
The MMDA sees a more harmonious working relationship with the 17 local chief executives in Metro Manila with San Juan on board.
